Regional Director

Cheryl Bryant is a Regional Director at NC Counts Coalition. In this role, Cheryl has overseen the implementation of a comprehensive regional plan to foster health equity, connect community organizations with critical resources, expand partner collaborations, and advocate for policies, programs, and services that advance equity. 

As a long-term resident of rural, Eastern NC, Cheryl has spent decades continuing her family’s legacy of advancing equity through service to the community. She is a seasoned professional with substantive experience in nonprofit capacity building and advocacy, program development, project management, grant management, and social work. As a passionate community advocate, Cheryl has directed multiple community and institutional program initiatives, led efforts to increase the BIPOC participation on public boards and commissions, co-chaired political campaigns, and provided grant management and consultative services for over 100 nonprofits and community-based organizations. 

Cheryl is a proud graduate of NC Wesleyan College and UNC-Chapel Hill where she received her Master of Social Work degree. She has received multiple awards and recognition for her academic performance, community work, and advocacy, including a collegiate departmental academic award, the NAACP Political Action award, and recognition for her work on behalf of youth.
