Policy & Advocacy Manager

NC Counts Coalition is seeking a full-time Policy & Advocacy Manager to join our team. The Policy & Advocacy Manager plays a key role in advancing NC Counts’ policy and advocacy efforts across Civic Engagement, Census, and Recovery & Resiliency. This position supports policy research, advocacy training, legislative engagement, and coalition-building efforts while helping connect community priorities to meaningful policy and systems change.

The ideal candidate will have experience in community engagement, advocacy, organizing, or policy-related work and be able to translate complex issues into clear, actionable information for diverse audiences. They should be a strong communicator, relationship builder, and collaborator who is passionate about supporting communities and strengthening collective advocacy efforts across North Carolina.

This is a growth-oriented position for an emerging leader who is eager to deepen their experience in policy, advocacy, and coalition work within a statewide network.

The position is based in a home office anywhere in North Carolina and requires up to 40% travel throughout the state. The candidate must be able to travel regionally and nationally and work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
